Peninsula Support Services (PSS) acknowledges that we provide our services on the Country of the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. The Boon Wurrung are the traditional owners and caretakers of these lands and we pay our respect to them and their elders past and present.

On Sorry Day 2009 PSS made a public statement of commitment to develop a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and registered with Reconciliation Australia in the hope that we can contribute to the closing of the 17 year gap between Aboriginal and Non-aboriginal life expectancy.

See our Statement of Commitment here. PSS Statement of Commitment.pdf

We also have the privilege to be an active member of the Peninsula Health Frankston/ Mornington Peninsula Indigenous Action Group and to be involved in the annual NAIDOC WEEK Celebrations alongside the Aboriginal Support & Development Team from Mornington Peninsula Shire (MPS), Peninsula Health Frankston/ Mornington Peninsula Indigenous Action Group & DHS.

PSS is committed to ensuring that its staff and volunteers are culturally aware and sensitive to the needs of Indigenous people and we welcome any feedback especially from the Indigenous Communities on how we can improve access of our services.

"Our minds are fragile, we need the land to help us heal. We call upon the tortoise for protection and the frogs to help our spirits and souls throughout our journey".
